Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at California State University, Fresno. I specialize in comparative politics, international relations, and methodology. My research and teaching interests focus on political violence, human rights, democratization, politics of memory, and Latin America.

Previously, I taught at California State University, StanislausModesto Junior College, and Temple University. I was a Chancellor's Doctoral Incentive Program Scholar at The California State University from 2016-8, an Affiliated Researcher at the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos in Peru where I carried out extensive fieldwork from 2013-7, and a Future Faculty Fellow at Temple University from 2011-3.

I earned MA/PhD degrees in Political Science from Temple University, and BA/MA degrees in Political Science from San Diego State University. When I am not reading, writing, or teaching, you can find me hiking, running, or cheering on the San Francisco Giants.
